Kruger National Park

Luxury meets the wild in the heart of Africa’s finest bushveld where Royal Malewane's expert guides and trackers ensure intimate game experiences and close sightings of the big five.

Situated on a private reserve within the greater Kruger National Park area of South Africa, the lodge hosts a maximum of 20 guests in the utmost colonial splendor. Six freestanding, private suites rest in harmony with the magnificent surroundings. Royal Malewane offers an exclusive getaway for those who value privacy, personalised service and the best game viewing in Africa.

Royal Malewane provides an escape from the constraints of modern life to a synthesis of wildest Africa and age-old colonial splendour. As the lodge is set deep in the African bush, this is ideal for the traveler who wants to experience true Africa. Most groups mix together well, and guests traveling alone are unlikely to feel excluded. Depending on availability, they are able to accommodate single travelers. Its unique size makes Royal Malewane suited to being booked in its entirety for families or friends wishing to have the camp for their exclusive use. To appreciate all that Royal Malewane has to offer, we recommend a minimum of a two-night stay.

13 000 hectares (30 000 Acres) provide a balance of spectacular game and wildlife viewing, extensive flora and never-ending African skies.

Activities
The thrill of viewing animals in the wild is unparalleled. Most of the viewing is conducted from specially converted Land Rovers. Tracking is an exhilarating experience, as your eyes and ears search for any sign that game is near.

Up close and intensely personal, the spirit of the bushveld utterly seduces your senses. At Royal Malewane, the Big Five and a million more await. Home to lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and black & white rhino, the 13 000 hectare reserve provides exceptional opportunities for game viewing.

Game viewing is individually tailored, either by open Land Rover or on foot. Our expert and experienced rangers and trackers accompany the guests. All our game rangers are highly trained and qualified and Royal Malewane is privileged to have the only surviving Master Tracker currently working in Southern Africa.

The order of the day is usually an early morning game drive followed by a leisurely breakfast. Thereafter, guests can enjoy the luxury of the camp until lunch. Afternoon game drives include sundowners and culminate in a night drive. Dinner is served under the African sky or with silver & crystal in the dining areas.

In addition to game viewing and relaxing in luxury, the lodge offers a number of additional activities; Cheetah Project, Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre, Hot Air Balloon Flights, Golf, Horse Riding Safaris, Weavers Community Tour.
